The program is a further exposure to Cuba’s rich musical heritage made famous worldwide by musicians like Sandoval, Dizzy Gillespie, Mario Bauza, Machito, or Chico O’Farrill, and ensembles such as Orquesta Aragón, Orquesta Cubana de Música Moderna (later re-named Irakere), Los Van Van, and the Buena Vista Social Club.
