Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra’s Summermusik season is an ode to joy

“It’s not just another season. It is a joyful occasion, and I think everyone will be excited to be playing again,” said German-born music director (whose name, Preu, incidentally, rhymes with joy). “Orchestras all over the country and the world have trouble getting people back. My No. 1 goal is to get people back into the hall, to remind them why they went in the first place. It’s not only entertainment, but there’s also a social aspect, a human aspect. It’s basically just joy, keeping people happy.”
