Adventures on the Silk Road

The Mainstage series is sponsored by the John A. Schroth Charitable Trust, PNC Bank

Explore music from countries along the ancient silk road just like Marco Polo with the full chamber orchestra at our Mainstage series. Featuring violinist Rachel Barton Pine and Tuvan throat singer SoRIAH as seen on America’s Got Talent as well as an actor from the Ensemble Theatre portraying Marco Polo.

Approximately 2 hours with a 15-minute intermission.
Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

Preconcert activities:
6:30-7:30pm: Visit Ten Thousand Villages in the lobby to view ethically crafted goods from along the Silk Road that celebrate global culture and age-old art forms. Every purchase supports dignified income opportunities for artisans—many of them women—working in safe, sustainable environments. Cool down with chilled samples of flavorful teas from across Asia as you peruse their handmade items.
6:45-7:15pm: Join Summermusik Director Eckart Preu for a pre-concert talk in the Mayerson Theatre
