The Soundtrack of America

The Mainstage series is sponsored by the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation

Our first Mainstage of 2026 will feature not one, not two, but three world-premieres commissioned especially for the Summermusik Festival: the first by 2025 Kreitler Commission Competition winner Simon Rivet; the second, Visions of Humanity and Unity, by a consortium of five internationally-recognized composers; and the third by local luminary Kanniks Kannikeswaran. This cornucopia of new work is a reflection of the rich culture of invention and collaboration that our country has fostered for 250 years, and of the commitment by Summermusik to support the musical innovators of our time.

Approximately 2 hours with a 15-minute intermission.
Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

Preconcert activities:
6:45-7:15pm: Join Summermusik Director Eckart Preu and the guest artists for a pre-concert talk in the Mayerson Theatre
