“A delightful experience!”
“First rate in every way – appeals to all.”
“The highlight of the holiday season!”
– Amahl patrons
Music, mischief, and miracles combine in the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra’s production of Gian Carlo Menotti’s Christmas chamber opera Amahl and the Night Visitors – the tale of the shepherd boy Amahl, his mother, and their miraculous, life-changing encounter with the Three Wise Men.
Opera singers, Pones Inc. dancers, Madcap Puppets, a full choir and the CCO combine in a performance that is the first of its kind, appealing to all ages!
Join us at Xavier University’s Gallagher Center Theater for this 50-minute chamber opera that has taken its place as a holiday must-see in the Queen City.

A STAR LEADS THE WAY!
The role of Amahl has launched the careers of many young singers, including Cincinnati’s own G. James Sammarco, who understudied for the part in the original 1951 production. The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra recognizes the importance of support to the next generation of young singers and budding musicians. Together with Dr. Sammarco and his wife Ruthann, we have created a scholarship to fund the musical training of our production’s title character. With your participation, we can help tonight’s young star develop as an artist and as a person. Please join us today!
Make a donation of just $20 (or more!) at any Amahl show December 21-23 at Xavier University and as a small token of thanks, you will receive a beautiful, glittering star ornament to adorn your tree (while supplies last)!
Can’t attend the show, but would still like to support the Amahl Scholarship? Please call Lyndsay Coleman at 513.723.1182 x101.
